Little Haven Residential Home,
Dibden Purlieu

Tucked on the edge of the New Forest, Little Haven is a 41-bed residential care home which offers the perfect balance of comfort, community, and beautiful surroundings. It’s a place where our residents can feel at home, enjoy home-cooked meals, and be part of a lively programme of activities. Our lovely gardens, cosy in-house pub, creative Arts & Crafts/Movie room, Coffee Shop, and Hair Salon all add to the sense of warmth and community.

The en-suite rooms are light and airy, and benefit from stunning views of the gardens, an acre of wood, and terraced gardens.

Alongside long-term residential care, we also offer respite stays from as little as two days. A short stay can provide a welcome break for families, or serve as a gentle introduction for anyone considering a permanent move into care.

As part of Everwood, a charity devoted to caring for older people, every penny we make is reinvested back into the home. This ensures Little Haven continues to grow and improve for the benefit of the people who matter most – our residents.

Home Cooked Meals, Every Day

The shared dining space at Little Haven provides opportunities for companionship with soothing colours.

Meals at Little Haven are freshly prepared each day and enjoyed in our bright and welcoming dining room. Our chefs create weekly menus that change with the seasons, offering a choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner so there is always something to suit different tastes. An aperitif is served before lunch and dinner to encourage appetite, and once a week residents can enjoy a traditional afternoon tea together.

We see mealtimes as an important part of life - a chance to relax, share conversation, and spend time with friends. Family members are warmly invited to join, making dining a social occasion as well as a nourishing one. For those who prefer a quieter setting, meals can also be served in the comfort of a resident’s own room.

Every dish is prepared with care, reflecting personal preferences and dietary requirements, so that food remains enjoyable, balanced and supportive of wellbeing.

"All I would say is that my mother is extremely happy at Little Haven. She consistently tells me that she has her own space but there are always people around who are friendly and helpful.  Mother never thought she would find herself in such a residential home, which she often calls home to me. Also, she thinks it’s one of the best decisions in her life that she chose Little Haven to spend her final years.  Keep up the good work."

Our bedrooms are designed to be light, comfortable and practical, each with its own en-suite for privacy and convenience. Large windows bring in plenty of natural light, and many rooms look out over the gardens, woodland and terraces that surround the home.

We encourage residents to personalise their rooms with familiar furniture, photographs and keepsakes, so that each space feels truly their own. Whether it’s a favourite chair, family pictures or a well-loved collection of books, these touches make a big difference in helping new residents settle quickly.

For added peace of mind, all rooms are fitted with 24-hour call systems, and our housekeeping team keep rooms clean and comfortable. Together, these details help make each bedroom not just a place to sleep, but a real home from home.

Our Activities Programme

Life at Little Haven is about much more than care - it’s about enjoying each day and staying connected to the things that matter. Our activities are designed to support wellbeing, independence and a sense of fun, with something for everyone to join in with.

The weekly programme is varied and flexible, ranging from arts and crafts, music and gardening to gentle exercise, quizzes and themed events. We also arrange regular outings to local cafés, pubs, garden centres, National Trust parks, wildlife parks, boat trips, sporting fixtures and museums. For those who prefer smaller groups or quiet time, there are plenty of one-to-one activities too.

Our dedicated Lifestyle Manager works with each resident to make sure hobbies and interests continue, and new ones are discovered. Whether it’s a scrabble club, flower arranging, visits from Pets as Therapy dogs, or shared moments with local toddler groups, activities are tailored so everyone can take part in a way that feels right for them.

We’re fortunate to have the support of many volunteers of all ages from the local community, which strengthens our ties with the town and brings new friendships and energy into the home. Church services, music therapy and wellness activities such as seated yoga add further choice and variety, ensuring there is always something meaningful to look forward to.

Introducing Jamie, the Little Haven Manager

Little Haven Manager, Jamie.
1

I began my journey in care at the age of 18, starting out as a care worker. Early on, I realised that my passion lay in making a broader impact, and I set my sights on becoming a home manager.

I worked through a variety of roles within the care sector to build my knowledge and experience, which eventually led me to achieving my goal.

Today, as the Home Manager at Little Haven, I truly love what I do. I take pride in leading a service that is safe, well-managed, and centred around compassionate care.

At Little Haven, our focus is on helping residents live active, purposeful lives while maintaining their independence. We aim to empower every individual, and my door is always open to residents, their families, and our staff. Looking ahead, my vision is to continue fostering a supportive, inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and at home.
