Little Haven Gets a Visit From The Charity Christmas Fire Engine
Christmas at Everwood Care homes (Little Haven and Heartland Manor) is always a special time of year, filled with festive decorations, laughter, and events designed to bring joy to residents and their families.
On the 17th of December, the Waterside Christmas Fire Engine visited Little Haven. The volunteer-run initiative was a standout moment in our festive calendar, combining entertainment, generosity, and a sense of belonging that perfectly captured the spirit of the season.

A Family Gathering at Everwood Care
The Everwood family, made up of our staff, residents, and their loved ones, came together to marvel at the sparkling lights, which brought with it a special visit from Santa and his elves.
Cheerful Christmas music played from the truck, evoking nostalgia of past Christmases and childhood wonder, and new memories were created that will be cherished long after the decorations have been taken down.

For residents, especially those with limited mobility or fewer opportunities to get out into the community, moments like these are priceless.
Our resident family members have been able to enjoy an array of fun activities over the month at both homes, ranging from a Carousel Theatre pantomime performance of Cinderella to live performances from Aimi Percival, Kerry Le Bern, and Jon Rowdy.
More Than Just Entertainment at Christmas
At Everwood Care, the festive period is about more than just entertainment. Every activity, performance, and visit is carefully considered to enhance the well-being of residents. We work tirelessly to make sure that each event creates meaningful connections, stimulates conversation, and encourages participation, whether through music, movement, or simply shared laughter. It’s about creating a sense of family, not just within each care home, but across the wider community, which was seen at the fire engine visit.
For families, these events are an opportunity to participate in their loved ones’ lives in a vibrant and engaging way. They can join in the laughter, share stories, and witness the delight on residents’ faces. For staff, it’s a chance to see the impact of their care in a different light as residents relax, engage, and celebrate together. As for the wider community, it’s a reminder of the importance of kindness, generosity, and shared moments that make life richer for everyone.
Merry Christmas From Everwood Care!

It feels especially fitting that Everwood Care, a charity dedicated to reinvesting all profits back into our homes to enhance the lives of residents, hosted a Charity Christmas Fire Engine this year. Just as the fire engine brings joy, connection, and festive cheer to the community, every initiative at Everwood is focused on creating meaningful experiences, improving daily life, and spreading happiness throughout our homes.
For us, the magic of Christmas isn’t limited to a single day or visit. It’s woven into the everyday moments, the shared smiles, and the ongoing efforts to make life better for everyone who calls Everwood home their own.
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers and Charity Christmas Fire Engine team, the families and friends of our residents, our staff, and the residents themselves for bringing joy to us all year-round. This year’s festive season was brighter, warmer, and more joyful than ever.
