Heartland Manor Residential and Dementia Home, Brockenhurst

Heartland Manor is a 40-bed residential and dementia care home in the village of Brockenhurst, surrounded by the peace and beauty of the New Forest.  Residents enjoy home-cooked meals, a varied programme of activities, and a range of shared spaces including a coffee shop, hair and beauty salon, lounges, dining rooms, and a dedicated Movie and Arts & Crafts room.

Each bedroom is en-suite, with many looking out over the gardens, and every room has its own telephone line and internet access, with Wi-Fi available throughout the home.

The home also has a specialist dementia unit, designed to provide safe and reassuring care for people living with dementia. With its own post office, florist, café, dining room, lounge and sensory room, this space offers familiar surroundings, colour cues and interactive features that support independence and create both interest and calm.

As part of Everwood, a charity dedicated to caring for older people, every penny we make is reinvested into our homes. This means Heartland Manor continues to improve for the benefit of those who matter most – our residents.

Home Cooked Meals, Every Day

The dining room at Heartland Manor has bunting, tables and chairs, providing a nice setting for meal times and companionship.

At Heartland Manor, every meal is freshly cooked and served in our light and comfortable dining room. The menu changes each week with the seasons, giving residents plenty of choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Before the evening meal, we offer an aperitif to help stimulate appetite, and once a week there’s a traditional afternoon tea to enjoy together.

Mealtimes are about more than food – they’re an opportunity to relax and spend time with others. Relatives are welcome to join, making it easy to share meals as a family. For our residents who prefer privacy, meals can also be served in their own room.

Our kitchen team takes care to cater for individual tastes and dietary needs, so that food is not only nutritious but also enjoyable and familiar.

"Dad moved into Heartland upon discharge from hospital. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The effort to make the new dementia corridors as interesting and stimulating as possible is a real example of the care and consideration given to the residents. We are so fortunate to have found such an exceptional home for my father."

We encourage residents to personalise their rooms with familiar furniture, photographs and keepsakes, so that each space feels truly their own. Whether it’s a favourite chair, family pictures or a well-loved collection of books, these touches make a big difference in helping new residents settle quickly.

For added peace of mind, all rooms are fitted with 24-hour call systems, and our housekeeping team keep rooms clean and comfortable. Together, these details help make each bedroom not just a place to sleep, but a real home from home.

Our Activities Programme

Life at Heartland Manor is about much more than care - it’s about enjoying each day and staying connected to the things that matter. Our activities are designed to support wellbeing, independence and a sense of fun, with something for everyone to join in with.

The weekly programme is varied and flexible, ranging from arts and crafts, music and gardening to gentle exercise, quizzes and themed events. We also arrange regular outings to local cafés, pubs, garden centres, National Trust parks, wildlife parks, boat trips, sporting fixtures and museums. For those who prefer smaller groups or quiet time, there are plenty of one-to-one activities too.

Our dedicated Lifestyle Manager works with each resident to make sure hobbies and interests continue, and new ones are discovered. Whether it’s a scrabble club, flower arranging, visits from Pets as Therapy dogs, or shared moments with local toddler groups, activities are tailored so everyone can take part in a way that feels right for them.

We’re fortunate to have the support of many volunteers of all ages from the local community, which strengthens our ties with the town and brings new friendships and energy into the home. Church services, music therapy and wellness activities such as seated yoga add further choice and variety, ensuring there is always something meaningful to look forward to.
