Everwood Care Showers Residents with Fun in April
From Easter to live music and celebrations, hands-on experiences and seasonal festivities, our beloved residents were showered with fun this April.
A Trip Down Memory Lane with Retro Rita
Music has a special way of unlocking memories, and this session truly felt like a journey down memory lane, one filled with laughter, warmth, and shared experiences.
Residents were transported back in time thanks to a delightful performance from Retro Rita. With her vibrant energy and fantastic selection of songs from the 1960s, she created an atmosphere full of nostalgia and happiness.
Familiar tunes filled the room, and it wasn’t long before residents were singing along, tapping their feet, and sharing smiles with one another.
A Fascinating Visit from Birds of Prey
Adding to the excitement, residents also enjoyed a fantastic and interactive visit from Colin Sutherland and his birds of prey.

This unique experience gave everyone the opportunity to get up close and personal with some truly magnificent creatures. Residents met a kestrel, a barn owl, and a Harris hawk, learning interesting facts about each bird and their natural behaviours.
For many, the highlight was the chance to hold the birds themselves, safely supported with a towel. There were smiles all around, and one standout moment came when Freda delighted everyone by perfectly mimicking the Harris hawk’s squawk, bringing laughter to residents, staff, and visiting team members alike.
Celebrating Freda’s 90th Birthday
Freda has certainly been at the heart of celebrations recently, as she marked an incredible milestone: her 90th birthday!

It was a truly special day, shared with fellow residents, family, and staff at Little Haven. The celebrations were made even more memorable with a visit from a classic Mr Whippy ice cream van, thoughtfully arranged by her son.
With ice creams all round and plenty of smiles, it was a joyful and heartwarming way to celebrate such a remarkable occasion.
A Special Easter Church Service
Moments of reflection and togetherness are just as important as celebrations, and the recent Easter church service at Little Haven offered exactly that.
Residents and staff came together in a calm and peaceful setting to sing hymns, reflect, and enjoy each other’s company. It was a meaningful time that highlighted the strong sense of community within the home.
Easter Bonnet Making Fun
Creativity was already in full flow ahead of the Easter weekend, with residents coming together to design and make their very own Easter bonnets.
The room was filled with laughter as everyone decorated their hats and proudly showed off their finished creations. There was even a fun moment when Jamie was persuaded to try one on!

After the crafting session, everyone relaxed with a cuppa, some cake, and a good old natter. We love these simple but meaningful moments that bring people closer together.
